Framed…?

Dance Film. work-in-progress

THE CHOREOGRAPHER’S NOTES:

Walking down the street, especially in New York City, I try to look through the physical windows of buildings, curious about the lives people lead. During the pandemic, the windows became more. More mysterious. More confined. More emotional. We were all stuck at home. The windows became like the viewing pane at a zoo. Of creatures trapped.

But on the flip side, we have digital windows. Zoom. Instagram. FaceTime. Windows of opportunity, through which we can share ourselves and visit our friends and family. Just because these digital windows are useful, it doesn’t mean they're exclusively a force of good. They can also lead us to lose and disguise ourselves.

We are all living in a framed world.

Constrained inside of our homes,

unboned through the internet world.
