ABOUT THE SHOW

In “The Tangible Hallucination of Rourou in the Day-Time,” a solo performer uses choreography to abstract everyday experience. Through reiteration of a series of events, she tries to make sense of a world shaped by diverging cultural and social perspectives and find her own meaning behind action.

DESCRIPTION

A minimalist dance that utilizes Jenga blocks as an interactive object. Through the dance the artist seeks to convey her experience as a foreign artist who relocated to New York City. She wants to address how she was confronted with setbacks while pursuing her artistic dreams, and how she was bombarded with feelings of loss, failure, loneliness and alienation.

Work-in-progress showcase followed by post-show discussion with the artists  

Saturday, 5/26 8:30pm - 9:30pm (doors open at 8:00pm)
